Chapel Allerton Arts Festival Special! Tuesday 30th August

AISLE16: POETRY BOYBAND
Queens Arms, Harrogate Road, Chapel Allerton Leeds
Doors at 8pm. £6/5 concs
Rising poetry superstars Aisle16 stop off in Leeds on their way back from the Edinburgh Festival with a white-knuckle micro-lecture on the achingly hip subject of contemporary poetics. The boys will attempt to get to the bottom of what poetry really actually is, and whether it is actually really any good for anything at all. It's Edutainment, innit.

Luke Wright, Ross Sutherland, Joel Stickley, and Chris Hicks take their ambulance-chasing poetics to new levels of choreography, notching up the cultural road kill as they go. And what’s more they’ll turn you into a key stage three approved poet!!

A full on multimedia, poetry extravaganza not for the faint hearted.

“See the genre redefined as Aisle16 shun tradition in favour of a vibrant, darkly satirical show.” Time Out
“Poetry has come of age.”The Guardian
“I couldn’t help feeling nostalgic for a little beard mumbling.’”– The Times Literary Supplement

Disclaimer: Show is a mixture of comedy, theatre and poetry. Show is a farce and will in no way improve your Reading & Literacy levels. Will appeal to fans of Hegley, Cooper Clarke and Roger McGough.

This is definately not to be missed. Some of you may remember Luke Wright's staggering performance last December at wicked words or have seen him on the BBC3 slam last year now he's joined by the full Aisle 16 team on there way home from a critically acclaimed run in Edinburgh.
